Good luck to Team UK at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026

The world’s best young skills talent is coming together in Shanghai this week, as WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 gets underway.

Held every two years, the WorldSkills Competition is the world’s largest international gathering of skills talent. This year, around 1,400 competitors from 73 countries and regions will compete across 64 skills, showcasing the knowledge, technical expertise and practical skills they have developed to reach the international stage.

Team UK has earned its place at the competition through a series of national and regional selection competitions. From 23 to 26 September, they will compete against talented competitors from around the world, with the competition culminating in a closing ceremony and medal presentations on 27 September.

Celebrating skills excellence on the world stage

Enginuity is proud to support WorldSkillsUK and to champion the UK’s talented competitors as they represent their country in Shanghai.

Ann Watson MBE, CEO of Enginuity, shared a message of support with Team UK: “We will be cheering you on from the UK and wishing you all the best of luck in Shanghai. I know you're going to do your absolute best and I know you're going to smash it, so congratulations and good luck from everybody at Enginuity and EAL.”

Supporting the next generation of skills talent

WorldSkills provides an opportunity to celebrate the value of technical and practical skills, while giving talented competitors the chance to demonstrate their expertise on an international stage.

Enginuity and EAL are also supporting WorldSkillsUK at this year’s National Finals in Wales, taking place on 18 and 19 November. Enginuity is sponsoring the Automation category, while EAL is sponsoring the Fabrication category.
