We provide a unique opportunity to support engineering and manufacturing SMEs and supply chain by working together to deliver evidence-based insights and data, which better understand and highlight the challenges and opportunities those businesses face.

What we deliver
Sector collaboration to influence change.
We work with membership organisations, trade bodies, sector networks, and large employers to generate and share intelligence, amplify influence, and align expertise and priorities to shape policy and address sector challenges, in support of SMEs and supply chain.
This intelligence informs policy, helps close skills gaps, and drives productivity and innovation, contributing to the resilience and growth of the broader manufacturing ecosystem and the UK economy.

How we deliver it
To ensure your voice is heard in policy, we:
- Convene businesses and industry groups to power collaborative research and shaping or testing of recommendations
- Lead joint campaigns or collective advocacy, and produce government-facing policy documents
- Provide skills shortages knowledge and deliver insight reports, dashboards, and briefings
- Facilitate partnerships, joint initiatives, and coordinated action to amplify impact
- Gather and share data and use our reach to strengthen advocacy where influence is limited.
“We need a very focused direct line to government to address our needs, concerns and skills. The Policy Centre gives us this access.”

SME Snapshot Report
We developed the SME Snapshot Report to help policymakers, industry bodies, and investors better understand the pressures SMEs face, and what part they can play in driving the UK's next chapter of growth. Download the report to explore the data, and sign up to be part of the January edition.
