This week, as part of International Women’s Day celebrations, Enginuity hosted the first-ever 365 LIVE event at Millennium Point in Birmingham on Thursday 5 March, bringing together the inspiring community behind the 365 Faces of STEM campaign.

Over the past year, 365 Faces of STEM has celebrated the everyday women and allies shaping the future of engineering, manufacturing, and building services engineering. From welders and apprentices to engineers, leaders, and advocates, the campaign has shared one story a day for 365 days, highlighting the people driving inclusion in STEM.

By providing a platform for these individuals to be seen, heard, and recognised, the campaign has emphasised the importance of visibility and representation. At 365 LIVE, seeing so many faces from the first year gathered together was a truly powerful moment.

A day of celebration and inspiration

Attendees connected, shared experiences, and celebrated the collective effort to create a more inclusive STEM sector. The event showcased not only the achievements of the first cohort but also the potential of a community united by a shared mission. When people can see themselves in STEM, the future opens up.

A standout highlight of the day was the live performance of ‘What If’, a poem written and performed by award-winning spoken word artist Ogorchukwu Ozor. The piece captured the spirit of the campaign and reflected on representation, visibility, and the impact of collective action in shaping a more equitable STEM environment.

Fiona McGarry, Sector Engagement Manager, commented: “I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve created, a diverse community of people making a real difference, inspiring and supporting others across STEM. Seeing the first cohort together reminded us all of the power of community. When people come together to support one another, real change is possible.”

Looking ahead and nominating others

The campaign does not stop here. Enginuity is now launching the next chapter of 365 Faces of STEM and inviting the community to continue the momentum. This year, the focus is on lifting others as they rise. We’re asking the sector:

  • Who do you know that deserves to be seen?
  • Who is making a difference in STEM?
  • Who has inspired you along the way?

Those in the sector are encouraged to nominate someone who is shaping the future of engineering and manufacturing and deserves recognition, helping to share real stories that matter. Nominations can include individuals putting themselves forward or celebrating the people around them who are making a difference.

The event also announced the campaign’s new pledge to Encourage, Nominate, Give, Inspire, Network, Upskill, Include, Tell, and maintain a Youth focus, all critical elements in building a thriving, inclusive STEM community.
